I left my heart.....

Had a WONDERFUL weekend in San Francisco. My boy had to do a report on a California Mission and the one he picked was Mission Dolores. I decided, in my infinate wisdom, to take a trip up there, so he could see it in person and we could take pictures for his Power Point project. Of course, that took all of an hour and we spent the other three days goofing off in the city.

We took the kids to Pier 39, walked around Fisherman's Wharf and got Clam Chowder Bread Bowls at Boudin's . They kept remarking on how San Francisco looks like Disney's California Adventure. I'm yelling, "BUT THIS IS THE REAL THING! Disneyland's is pretend!"

We stayed at a hotel in San Mateo, because a room in the City cost waaaaaaaaay too much. And after a little recon, we found the neatest supermarket in downtown San Mateo. Kinda like a Whole Foods or a Bristol Farms. Got a few supplies for the room and called it a night.

The next morning, we had breakfast in the hotel. They provided the usual continental breakfast, but had fresh waffles and little folded eggs. After stuffing our faces, we head back to San Fran. This time, we got all day passes to ride the cable cars . We also checked out the cable car barn and museum. We had lunch at Scoma's, the best seafood restaurant in town. We rode the cable car some more and took an electric street car back to our car in Fisherman's Wharf.

Day three, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge and Sausalito. The bridge has a passageway underneath so you can get to the east vista view from the west side of the bridge. I never knew that before and was interesting to walk UNDER the bridge. After taking pictures of the red bridge, we drove around the Golden Gate National Recreational area. Another place I was not aware of. There are awesome views of the Brigde and old bunkers.
After drinking coffee in Sausalito, we drove over to San Quentin and took more pictures. I wanted to say hi to Scott Peterson, but I don't think the guards would let me in.

Finally, we set sail for home. We took the long way and stopped at the Monterey Bay Aquarium. I got to see a Great White Shark. Later, MUCH LATER, we had dinner at Linn's in Cambria. It is a little restaurant we discovered back in 2000.

We pulled into our home town about 1 A.M. and spent most of the next day on the couch recuperating from our trip. We all had a good time. Hubby only pissed me off twice....That is a record! LOL
