The Happiest Place on Earth! **SOMETIMES**

My friend made plans to go to Disneyland today. Just mentioning it gave me the Mickey bug. I decided to take the kids for own adventure and I invited my darling husband (<-----said through gritted teeth) along and we drove to Anaheim. Happily for Jarod, we went to the California Adventure side first (his favorite side of the resort). Sadly, I had to tell him we couldn't go on any rides. I explained to my boy that Daddy couldn't ride any of the fast rides because of his shoulder (that was operated on last month. Honestly, it is because he is a big fat chicken. His other excuse is he doesn't fit on the rides. Oh, my 6'2" brother can, but he can't? Big sissy! But I digress).

The nice thing about excluding rides from your itinerary is that you can explore! (That is why I love going with my mom. Sucks for the kids, but we have fun dawdling) You can look at the shops, nibble on goodies (e.g. brownies, lemon bars and chocolate croissants!), and let the kids run around the SS Trustworthy. We also ducked into the Grand Californian Hotel and checked out the pool area (AWESOME WATER SLIDE) and accomdations. We definately have to stay there sometime! I know it is only 30 miles from my house, but damn, if it wasn't slendoriferous.

And that's where the trip came to a screeching halt. Jarod was already whining because we weren't going on any rides and when we said we were going to Bug's Life, we reneged. And Eddie's back was starting to seize up (and he didn't bother telling me, instead yelling at me for something insignficant, as per usual). So, I told Eddie to Flake OFF and started for the Disneyland Park. Then my little pea-brain said, "WAIT, Eddie has the car keys and do you really want to go to another crowded park with whiny kid(s)?" I made an about-face and hot-tailed it after Eddie and told him we were leaving.

I am going back next week, anyway!

And going on the tour in the Boudin Bakery yielded four "loaves" of sourdough bread. Jarod was going to refuse his share and I firmly told him to accept it. MINE! hahahahahahaha.
