Dr Jekyll

I went to Legoland today with my brother and our kids. I have to admit, I was a wee bit nervous. It has been awhile since he and I have done an activity by ourselves, without other family members (not including kids). Usually either spouse or one or both of our parents are with us. And he can be mean. Well, not mean, maybe mean spirited....."all in the name of fun." And he can be critical. I was worried he was going to be all over my kids and correcting them every second then telling me how to be a parent.

Turned out we had a really GREAT time. He was.....nice? He was my brother. He didn't have the mean spirited persona. I began relax and we had fun. And he actually commented on the way home that he had a good time. That in itself stunned me. He liked hanging out with me!! He liked me, he really liked me! LOL And I liked him. He wasn't the jerk he tends to be when his wife is around. I wonder if he is like that around his wife 24/7 and if so, how does she put up with him!?!? LOL I love his wife (MY SISTER!) and would hate for her to suffer all the time. Ha. I hope he just gets the split personality as a shield when everybody is around. To protect himself from being vunerable.

He's definitely not like that most of the time. Maybe you're onto something though, because I do notice it more when everyone is around.
